heddle check --only apology
Apology Check
The apology check fails copy where the writer disclaims their own experience, the kind of line an expert never writes. Without it, a post can open by saying the writer has never done the thing it explains, and a buyer stops reading there. The code half of the quality gate. First-person disclaimers of the writer's own experience ("I don't want to pretend", "it hasn't happened to me"), which an expert never writes.
When Heddle is set up on your site, this check runs on every build alongside 15 others, so a page that fails it is fixed before a buyer or a search engine sees it.
Why it exists
The code half of the quality gate. First-person disclaimers of the writer's own experience ("I don't want to pretend", "it hasn't happened to me"), which an expert never writes. One opened a published post on the source site. Narrow on purpose: "to be fair, X is stronger" is an expert conceding a point, and a broader first version flagged ten good chapters for exactly that.

Questions
What does the apology check look for?
First-person disclaimers of the writer's own experience.
Does the apology check need an AI model?
No. It reads the built pages or the sources directly, so it runs offline and costs nothing per run.
How do I run it?
Build the site, then run node bin/heddle.mjs check <site> --only apology from the Heddle repository.
